Hi! Thanks for taking the time to be here. My name is Jose Toledo. I have a passion for technology, cybersecurity, and education.
Why Am I Here?
I’ve always enjoyed teaching and sharing what I’ve learned. For years, I’ve thought about how best to share some of that knowledge, and in 2024, friends suggested a blog as a way to capture ideas and maybe even create a learning space. My goal is to post at least once a week with content that’s both interesting and educational. You can expect to see projects that could help you get started in areas like penetration testing, digital forensics and incident response (DFIR), and blue teaming. I also plan to break down current events and key cybersecurity concepts, discuss current issues in the cybersecurity world, and share some of my own thoughts and experiences.
My Background
My journey in this field has taken me through some interesting roles. I started as an enterprise network administrator, and a pivotal moment was helping to design and migrate a physical data center to a new virtual environment. From there, I moved into security engineering, then became an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). While I used to teach cybersecurity and consult on Operational Technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS), I’m now a strategic cybersecurity consultant at a FAANG company. My career has also been enriched by my service in the Air Force, where I continue to serve as a guardsman. I’ve been fortunate to have cybersecurity opportunities in various capacities around the globe, from incident response to building security programs and leading assessment teams.
My Personal Life
Beyond the tech, I’m just a guy who wants to make a positive impact. I’m a husband, a brother, a son, an uncle, a dog dad, a friend, and so much more. I’m hoping to share some of that here too. Thanks for checking out my blog!
